Dr. Lee Ensign

Elaine (Lee) Ensign, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, licensed in Tennessee since 1989. She is a Tennessee native and received her B.A. from Southwestern at Memphis (now Rhodes College). She completed her M.S. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Wyoming, serving a clinical internship at the Indiana University Medical Center. After completion of training, she worked as a staff psychologist at the Gallahue Mental Health Center of Community Hospital in Indianapolis, developing specialties in treatment of eating disorders and anxiety disorders. In 1988 she returned to Tennessee and served as a senior psychologist and Director of Therapeutic Services for the adolescent inpatient program at Ridgeview Psychiatric Hospital in Oak Ridge. She became a partner in Professional Psychotherapy Associates in Kingston in 1990 and has been pleased to maintain that affiliation for the past 21 years, with gratitude for the opportunity to work in a beautiful setting with a diverse and rewarding population.

Dr. Ensign works with adolescents and adults. She has over 25 years of experience treating a broad range of concerns and diagnoses, including but not limited to mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, attention deficit disorder, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transition challenges. She works closely with medical practitioners and other providers as needed to ensure coordinated care for her patients. She utilizes an eclectic orientation to treatment based on the needs of the individual and is well grounded in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and interpersonal approaches to therapy. Dr. Ensign is a practitioner and certified teacher of the Enneagram personality system.
